Speaker Mūrniece: Spain’s contribution to Baltic security is a prime example of allied solidarity

Speaker Mūrniece: we appreciate Swiss initiative to rebuild Ukraine
We highly appreciate Switzerland's leadership in spearheading the recovery of Ukraine. The conference in Lugano, co-organised by Switzerland and Ukraine, is a successful start to coordinated support from the democratic world for the recovery of Ukraine. This was underlined by Ināra Mūrniece, Speaker of the Saeima, during her meeting with Irène Kälin, President of the National Council (Parliament) of the Swiss Confederation, in Lugano, Switzerland.
Mūrniece to Ukrainian Parliament Speaker: Ukraine's recovery today’s concern
Ukraine needs the support of the international community now as Ukraine's recovery is not a matter for tomorrow, but today. What is needed most now is military assistance from allies for Ukraine to restore its sovereignty—to stop the aggressor and regain its territory. This was emphasised by Ināra Mūrniece, Speaker of the Saeima, during her meeting with Ruslan Stefanchuk, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine, in Lugano, Switzerland. The Speaker of the Saeima is currently on a working visit to Switzerland, where she is taking part in a conference on the recovery of Ukraine.

Ināra Mūrniece: Three Seas Initiative aims to attract investment and boost regional growth
The Three Seas Initiative covers 12 countries between the Adriatic, Baltic, and Black seas and aims to promote the development and connectivity of the region. On Thursday, 16 June, the Saeima supported in the final reading urgent amendments to the Law on Assistance to Ukrainian Civilians that posit that basic assistance is to be provided to Ukrainian people fleeing the war until the end of the year.

On Thursday, 16 June, the Saeima passed in the final reading a law that provides for the dismantling of the sites glorifying the Soviet and Nazi regimes, including the Monument to the Soviet soldiers—Liberators of Soviet Latvia and Riga from the German Fascist Invaders in the Victory Park in Riga.
Law prohibits political parties from acting against independence of Latvia or other democratic states
On Thursday, 16 June, the Saeima approved in the second and final reading urgent amendments to the Law on Political Parties that prohibit political parties from turning against the independence and territorial integrity of Latvia or other democratic states and from expressing or disseminating proposals to violently change the political system of the Republic of Latvia or another democracy.
Provision of access to programmes not included in the list of audio and audio-visual programmes retransmitted in Latvia now banned
On Thursday, 9 June, the Saeima adopted in the second and final reading amendments to the Electronic Mass Media Law in order to strengthen the Latvian information space and ensure that the public does not have access to programmes that are not included in the list of audio and audio-visual programmes retransmitted in Latvia.
