Saeima adopts Local Government Referendum Law
On Thursday, 17 March, the Saeima in the final reading adopted the Local Government Referendum Law. It determines the procedure for the initiation and conduct of municipal referenda.

Saeima tasks National Electronic Mass Media Council with restricting access to websites that threaten national security
On Thursday, 10 March, the Saeima in the second and final reading supported the urgent amendments to the Electronic Communications Law, authorising the National Electronic Mass Media Council (NEPLP) to restrict access to websites available in the territory of Latvia disseminating content that threatens or may endanger national security or public order and security.
On Thursday, 10 March, the Saeima in the second and final reading supported the urgent amendments to the Protected Service Law. They are designed to reduce the use of illegal devices, programs or other solutions to access audio-visual services, and to strengthen the Latvian information space.
