Law prohibits political parties from acting against independence of Latvia or other democratic states
On Thursday, 16 June, the Saeima approved in the second and final reading urgent amendments to the Law on Political Parties that prohibit political parties from turning against the independence and territorial integrity of Latvia or other democratic states and from expressing or disseminating proposals to violently change the political system of the Republic of Latvia or another democracy.
Provision of access to programmes not included in the list of audio and audio-visual programmes retransmitted in Latvia now banned
On Thursday, 9 June, the Saeima adopted in the second and final reading amendments to the Electronic Mass Media Law in order to strengthen the Latvian information space and ensure that the public does not have access to programmes that are not included in the list of audio and audio-visual programmes retransmitted in Latvia.

Speaker Mūrniece to President of Greece: Together we can overcome geopolitical challenges
Latvia and Greece are like-minded democratic states. The friendly relations and mutual understanding are the basis for closer cooperation while jointly facing unprecedented geopolitical shocks in Europe. This was emphasised by the Speaker of the Saeima Ināra Mūrniece on Friday, 3 June, during a meeting with the President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou. The President’s visit to Latvia was organised to mark the centenary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Entrepreneurs to receive support to mitigate economic impact caused by Russia’s military aggression
On Thursday, 2 June, the Saeima adopted in the final reading a law on support measures for entrepreneurs facing the economic consequences of the sanctions and countermeasures imposed against Russia in response to its military aggression. 
Saeima introduces remote work visa
On Thursday, 2 June, the Saeima adopted in the third reading amendments to the Immigration Law. The amendments stipulate the introduction of remote work visas to promote the migration of highly qualified professionals to Latvia. 
Speaker Mūrniece in Chisinau: Moldova must continue reforms on its path towards the EU
“Moldova has always been Latvia’s priority country in development cooperation. Lilac variety “Freedom” dedicated to Saeima’s centenary
On Thursday, 26 May, the Saeima hosted a ceremonial event naming a new lilac variety dedicated to the centenary of the Saeima. The new variety is named “Freedom” (Brīve). It conveys a symbolic message about the commitment to our country’s greatest values — freedom, independence and democracy. 
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, addresses the Saeima
On Thursday, 26 May, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, delivered a remote address to the Parliament of Latvia. He expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided to Ukraine by Latvia and its people, who have chosen the side of justice and regard Ukraine’s fight for freedom as their own.
