On Wednesday, 3 November, in an extraordinary session, the Saeima gave a vote of confidence to the Cabinet of Ministers formed by Mr. Valdis Dombrovskis. 63 MPs voted in favour of the new government; 35 MPs voted against.
Two of the five political forces elected to the 10th Saeima – the alliance of political parties Unity and the Union of Greens and Farmers - will be represented in the Cabinet of Ministers.
The new government will consist of the following: Mr. Valdis Dombrovskis, Prime Minister and Minister for Regional Development and Local Government; Mr. Artis Pabriks, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence; Mr. Ģirts Valdis Kristovskis, Minister for Foreign Affairs; Mr. Andris Vilks, Minister for Finance; Mr. Rolands Broks, Minister for Education and Science; Ms. Sarmīte Ēlerte, Minister for Culture; Ms. Ilona Jurševska, Minister for Welfare; Mr. Uldis Augulis, Minister for Transport and Communications; Mr. Aigars Štokenbergs, Minister for Justice; Mr. Juris Bārzdiņš, Minister for Health; Mr. Artis Kampars, Minister for Economics; Ms. Linda Mūrniece, Minister for the Interior; Mr. Raimonds Vējonis, Minister for Environment; and Mr. Jānis Dūklavs, Minister for Agriculture.
