On Thursday, 29 September, the Saeima adopted in the final reading an urgent law on the Skulte Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal in order to prevent long-term energy security risks in the energy sector and ensure the energy security and uninterrupted economic development of Latvia.

On Thursday, 22 September, the Saeima supported in the third and final reading amendments to the Animal Protection Law, providing that breeding animals for the sole purpose of obtaining fur is prohibited.

On Thursday, 15 September, the Saeima decided in its second and final reading to suspend three bilateral agreements between the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Belarus.

The Saeima on Thursday, 15 September, adopted in the final reading the amendments to the Law on Maternity and Sickness Insurance. With them, the procedure for using the parental benefit has been changed.
