The Saeima has set up the website www.parleu2015.lv that provides information on the events being organised by the parliament of Latvia during its Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The website will be a useful tool for participants to register for events and to receive practical information about the content and agendas of events.

The website also provides information on how the Saeima deals with EU issues, as well as describes the role of the parliament in preparing and implementing the Presidency. The website is available in Latvian, English and French.

The parliament will also post information about the Latvian Presidency on social networks via Twitter account @parleu2015lv and Flickr account flickr.com/photos/parleu2015. 

During the Presidency, the Saeima will hold six interparliamentary meetings; one of the biggest events - the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs of the Parliaments of the European Union (COSAC) - will be attended by more than 300 delegates.

Nearly the same number of participants will gather for the Interparliamentary Conference under Article 13 of the Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance in the Economic and Monetary Union; this conference is jointly organised by the Saeima and the European parliament. Furthermore, the Saeima will organise the Interparliamentary Conference for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), which will also gather around 300 MPs from the parliaments of EU member states. 

It is planned to hold the Meeting of the Chairpersons of the Committees on the Economic and Digital Affairs in Riga. Latvia will assume the presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of the next year. Latvia is a part of the presidency trio together with Italy and Luxembourg. The trio principle means that the three consecutive presiding countries agree on the agenda of the Council of the European Union for 18 months.
