Since its establishment 14 years ago, the Saeima Visitor and Information Centre has received almost 26 thousand visitors.

The priorities of the Saeima include openness, cooperation with society and its involvement in the legislative process. Every person in Latvia has the opportunity to learn about the Saeima directly through the Visitor and Information Centre.

In the past 14 years, NGOs and individuals have lodged almost 74 thousand submissions with the Saeima, and the Saeima hotline has received over 15 thousand calls.

In addition, the Saeima implements a variety of informative and educational projects. For example, the Youth Parliament brings together young people interested in exploring the work of the Saeima. In addition, the Parliament implements an educational programme for schools “Meet the Saeima”, both on the premises of the Saeima and remotely. The programme aims at sparking young people’s interest in the political processes in Latvia, educating them about the Saeima, its structure, the legislative process, the work of MPs, democracy, and civic involvement.

Various conferences, discussions, exhibitions dedicated to specific topics, as well as youth competitions are also held at the Parliament. In addition, the Saeima hosts an Open Door Day and participates in the Night of Museums.

Information about the Parliament events and news is available to the public on the Saeima Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and Instagram accounts, as well as on its YouTube channel.

The Visitor and Information Centre of the Saeima can be reached by calling the Saeima hotline +371 67087321 or sending an e-mail to info@saeima.lv.
