Solvita Āboltiņa, Speaker of the Saeima, sent a congratulatory letter to Eiki Nestor on his election to the position of President of the Riigikogu of the Republic of Estonia.

In her letter, Speaker Āboltiņa expresses appreciation for the friendly and fruitful relations between Latvia and Estonia, as well as conviction that the successful cooperation between the parliaments, both at the bilateral and regional level, is important for our countries to better face the challenges that lay ahead and take advantages of the opportunities which arise.

Solvita Āboltiņa also attests to her readiness for close cooperation and invites the new President of the Estonian parliament to visit Latvia. Concurrently, Speaker Āboltiņa indicates that both counterparts will have a chance to meet soon during the Conference of Speakers of the Parliaments of the European Union to be held in Vilnius.
