The Saeima will participate in the light festival Staro Rīga (Shining Riga) for the second year. This year it will present an audio-visual history of the fundamental values enshrined in the Constitution adopted 90 years ago.
“When celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Latvia, let us think positive thoughts, honour and praise the fundamental values embedded in our Constitution – freedom, independence, the rule of law, democracy, our national flag and language. During the festival, everyone is invited to walk by the main building of the Saeima and see in lights the portrayal of fundamental values and national identity,” urges Speaker of the Saeima Solvita Āboltiņa.
This year, on this project the Saeima is cooperating with the Art Academy of Latvia, and the author of the audio-visual installation is Inese Vēriņa, a student in the master’s study programme of the Visual Communication Department of the Faculty of Audio-Visual Media.
This audio-visual story on Fundamental Values of the Constitution over the Course of Time will adorn the facade of the main building of the Saeima during the light festival Staro Rīga during 15–18 November from 18:00 to 23:00.
Glorification is this year’s theme of the light festival Staro Rīga, and everyone is invited to go on a treasure hunt.
