Live streams of plenary sittings
As a part of our commitment to ensure free access to information about the work of the parliament, please feel free to supplement your website with a link to the Saeima’s official website www.saeima.lv. The website offers live streams from plenary sittings and other highlights.
Institutions and organisations which are interested in publishing the live streams on their official websites are requested to submit a written application to the Saeima Chancellery, indicating the desired type of streaming media, target website, purpose and term of publishing the streams. The Chancellery of the Saeima reviews the application and informs the submitter (on paper or electronically) about the terms and conditions for using the live streams.
Institutions and organisations have a right to publish the live streams of plenary sittings on their websites if they have received the live streaming code and if they comply with terms and conditions of using the live streams.
Terms and conditions for using the live streams
The live streams are the property of the Saeima Chancellery and are subject to the Copyright Law.
It is prohibited to use the live streams in a manner that discredits the Saeima and the people appearing in the material or misleads the viewers about the circumstances in which the material was filmed; moreover, the material cannot be used for commercial or advertising purposes. It is prohibited to modify the live streaming code or to transfer it to third parties.
When publishing the live streams, it is mandatory to give credit to the right-holder, i.e., the Saeima Chancellery.
Any non-compliance with these terms and conditions shall be regarded as a violation of copyright and property rights. The Saeima reserves the right to deny publishing of the live streams. Depending on the nature of the copyright violation and consequences thereof, violators will be held criminally or administratively liable in accordance with the law.
